About this policy
Rock the Fox is developed by Dan Tilsley for the Terry Fox Secondary music community. This policy covers the app’s programs, event information, concert photographs, audio recordings, and embedded videos.
Using the app
No account or sign-in is required. Rock the Fox does not operate its own advertising or behavioural analytics service. The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, personal photo library, or device location, and does not upload your personal photos or recordings.
Some content is bundled with the app. Online media and catalogues connect to hosting services, and embedded videos connect to YouTube. These services process information as described below.
Online media and Cloudflare
Cloudflare hosts and delivers online content, including media from media.dantilsley.com. Requests disclose technical information such as your IP address and the resource requested. Hosting services may process request times, device or browser information, errors, and security information to deliver and protect the service.
The Listen catalogue service retains operational invocation logs containing request and response metadata, including IP addresses, browser or app identifiers, and approximate location inferred from the network address, such as country. These records support service operation, security, and troubleshooting. The service currently uses Cloudflare’s Free plan, for which Workers Logs are retained for three days; Cloudflare documents a seven-day maximum across plans. Other service records have their own retention practices. See Cloudflare’s Workers Logs documentation and Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
YouTube videos
Rock the Fox 4.0 (build 6 and later) uses YouTube’s Privacy Enhanced Mode for embedded playback. YouTube states that these embedded views do not personalise the viewer’s YouTube experience or ads outside the app, and that ads shown in the player are non-personalised. Earlier builds may use the standard embedded player.
Privacy Enhanced Mode does not mean that no information is collected. Loading a player can send information to YouTube before you press Play; playback sends additional information. YouTube can use cookies or similar storage and process technical identifiers, IP addresses, and viewing interactions for player operation, security, measurement, and other purposes described by Google. We do not represent embedded playback as anonymous or free of third-party data collection. See YouTube’s explanation of Privacy Enhanced Mode.
Read the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service. You can manage Google account activity and privacy settings through Google’s privacy controls. Rock the Fox does not require a Google account or receive your Google password. Opening a video in YouTube’s app or website is also subject to that service’s policies.
Information on your device
The app caches images and catalogues to support loading and playback. Embedded web content can store website data through Apple’s WebKit system. Removing the app removes its local app data, subject to operating-system backup and restoration behaviour; it does not delete information retained by external providers.
Support and external links
If you email support, we receive the email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send so we can respond. Email providers also process that correspondence. You can contact us to ask about retention or deletion of a support message. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Links to websites, maps, ticketing, email, telephone services, and YouTube may open another app or website. Their policies apply to your use of those services. The venue address displayed in Rock the Fox is published venue information, not a measurement of your location.
Concert photographs and recordings
Rock the Fox displays published event photographs and student performances. If you have a privacy concern about content, contact us with the album, photograph, or performance involved so we can review it. Please do not include unrelated personal information about students.
Retention and your choices
Local caches may be replaced or cleared as the app and operating system manage storage. Hosting and video providers retain information according to their policies and service settings. For information you send directly to us, or concerns about published content, contact us below. Requests concerning information held by Google or another external service may also need to be made to that provider.
We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
