Terms of Use
Community rules for using Heard.
Heard is provided by Dan Tilsley. Please read and agree to these terms before using Heard’s live APRS content and messaging features.
Respectful use
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not share hateful or discriminatory content, sexually explicit material, harassment, threats, exploitation, spam, or content that violates another person’s rights. Do not impersonate others.
Use only your own authorized amateur-radio callsign for messaging and follow applicable operating rules.
Public APRS content
APRS is a public, independently operated network. Messages and station information are not private. Callsigns and positions may be inaccurate or impersonated. Do not transmit confidential or sensitive information.
Safety and enforcement
Heard filters objectionable content. No filter can detect every problem. Use Report to send the station, selected content when available, a reason, optional details, app version, and a random report ID for developer review. Reports may remain queued securely on this device until the reporting service receives them.
Use Block to hide a station immediately on this device and prevent new messages or retries to it. Heard sends a separate block notification to the developer; unblocking later does not cancel that notification. After developer review, Heard may also suppress a station for all app users. Local unblocking does not override that decision.
These actions affect only Heard. They do not remove content from the worldwide APRS network or other applications. Contact us to question an enforcement decision.
License and privacy
These community rules supplement Apple’s standard licensed application end user license agreement. See the privacy policy for how Heard handles information.
